Os norte-americanos Cannibal Corpse e Exodus são os grandes destaques em cartaz na segunda edição do SWR PORTO HARD, evento a ter lugar no Hard Club, no Porto, entre os dias 17 e 18 de Junho. O SWR PORTO HARD 2012 assume uma programação a dois dias que volta a acolher vários nomes de muito peso entre os adeptos das sonoridades mais extremas.

O death metal dos norte-americanos Cannibal Corpse encabeça claramente o primeiro dia do SWR PORTO HARD 2012. A influente banda de Alex Webster, Pat O’Brien, Paul Mazurkiewicz, Rob Barrett e George “Corpsegrinder” Fisher desloca-se ao nosso país para a apresentação em primeira mão de “Torture”, este que é já o seu 12.º registo discográfico e uma prova de que o grupo se encontra cada vez mais forte. Os portugueses Grog e Hunted Scriptum encarregam-se da abertura de uma noite dedicada ao death metal na sua vertente mais brutal.

O segundo dia do SWR PORTO HARD 2012 conta com a muito aguardada presença dos históricos norte-americanos Exodus com o seu thrash metal ao bom estilo da bay area. Os também norte-americanos Death Angel e os gregos Suicidal Angels completam um alinhamento definitivamente mais voltado para o thrash neste segundo dia de programação do SWR PORTO HARD 2012.

VOODOO SHYNE – ROCK N ROLL PROUD

O músico Voodoo Shyne acaba de lançar ROCK N ROLL PROUD, o primeiro single de seu novo trabalho solo, o esperado álbum SATAN´S GONNA LIKE IT.

Produzido pelo próprio músico em parceria com Estevan Sinkovitz, o álbum foi gravado em São Paulo e em Jaguariúna, mixado por Heros Trench, ganhador do Grammy Latino e guitarrista da reconhecida banda de trash metal Korzus e masterizado por Dr Andrew Davenport, Phd em música de Auckland, New Zealand.

Estevan Sinkovitz é amigo de infância do músico Voodoo Shyne e co-produziu o álbum agregando uma sonoridade vintage setentista às composições do artista. Músico experiente e versátil, Estevan Sinkovitz, toca com nomes de peso do cenário musical brasileiro. O guitarrista já subiu ao palco com Arnaldo Antunes, Erasmo Carlos, Edgar Scandurra e acompanha o músico Marcelo Jeneci em sua atual turnê.

Segundo o próprio Voodoo Shyne, o single Rock and Roll Proud fala sobre resistência, sobre o orgulho de ser rockeiro e que ninguém neste mundo irá derrubar o rock n roll; “ROCK N ROLL PROUD é um grito de batalha!”

Seu novo álbum irá coroar um período de experiências e amadurecimento após passar um ano sabático na capital da Inglaterra, onde foi frontman de conhecidas bandas da cena londrina. A crítica especializada espera muito por esse trabalho.

Em carreira solo desde 2006, o músico Voodoo Shyne tem como influências nomes como Alice Cooper, Ozzy Osbourne, Thin Lizzy e Motorhead.

O line up do novo álbum conta com Voodoo Shyne no baixo, vocal e sintetizadores, Estevan Sinkovitz nas guitarras, Caio Lopes na bateria e Hugo Bertolaccini nos teclados.

For over 20 years, Richard Marx has consistently and powerfully made his mark on the music industry. His debut single “Don’t Mean Nothing” and self-titled debut album kicked off his career as a solo artist in 1987 and went on to sell 3 million copies. His 1989 follow-up CD, “Repeat Offender,” became even more successful, selling over 7 million copies worldwide. From 1987 to 1990, he became the first male solo artist in history to have his first 7 singles reach the top 5 on Billboard’s singles chart, including the 1 hits “Hold On to the Nights,” “Satisfied” and the worldwide classic, “Right Here Waiting.” This feat remains unchallenged.

He was nominated for Grammy awards 3 times and received an American Music Award nomination for favourite male singer. In 1992, he was awarded Best Selling Adult Contemporary Artist at the Billboard Music awards, and received the International Song of the Year Award at the Australian Music awards for his song, “Hazard,” from his double platinum CD, “Rush Street.” 1994′s “Paid Vacation” CD also went platinum and featured the single, “Now and Forever” which not only went top 10 on the Billboard Pop Chart, but spent a nearly record breaking 13 weeks at #1 on the Billboard AC Chart.

In addition to selling over 30 million records, and writing thirteen US #1 songs, he remained a fixture on pop and adult contemporary radio for years, even as he emerged as a top producer working with some of the biggest names in the music business. Among those artists, *NSYNC, Barbra Streisand, Josh Groban, Vince Gill, 98°, Luther Vandross, Kenny Rogers, Sarah Brightman, Lara Fabian, Sister Hazel, The Tubes and SHeDAISY. More recently, he has written and produced records for Daughtry, Leann Rimes, Katherine Jenkins, Travis Tritt, Emerson Drive, Natalie Cole, Keith Urban, Paulina Rubio, Kenny Loggins, Chris Botti, Michael Bolton, and actor Hugh Jackman.

In the summer of 2006, Richard was asked to join “Ringo Starr’s All-Star Band” for a North American tour of 22 cities. Ringo and Richard recently co-wrote a song for Ringo’s upcoming CD in 2010.

“Inside My Head” is Richard Marx newest cd which includes a number of rare tracks featured on his latest US only releases “Emotional Remains”, “Duo” and “Stories to Tell”. Along with these songs, four brand new tracks were added to create a proper new album which could bring up to speed with the most relevant Richard Marx solo production the European fans. Circus Maximus’ first album, “The First Chapter”, took the metal world by storm in 2005. After 2 demos which received rave reviews in their home country, the band finally debuted with its impeccable Prog Metal sound made of a superb mixture of classic hard rock anthems and progressive technical bits and pieces to the world creating immediately a huge buzz.

On the heels of the release, Circus Maximus performed at the prestigious ProgPower Festival in Atlanta, USA– and the following year people demanded them to return, which they of course did, bringing along their new keyboardist Lasse Finbroten. In 2005 and 2006 the band played lots of gigs and festivals around Scandinaviawith such acts as Jorn, Kamelot, Pagan’s Mind and Glenn Hughes.

In 2007 they came back with an even stronger studio release “Isolate”: a concept album on “how much you can lose until you go completely mad, and how much have lost when insanity finally embraces you”. With a top-notch sound and 9 fantastic songs, the album was a huge step forward and put the band high on top of the Prog Metal genre.

Since then, Circus Maximus spent the past years gigging and further refining their sound. With the release of their anticipated new album, “Nine”, they are poised to take their place alongside the upper echelon of Progressive Metal bands. The band’s musical formula is not easy to accomplish – take jaw dropping musicianship, add a singer like Michael Eriksen with a voice from heaven and toss it together with hooks, anthemic melodies and enough heavy riffing to stick with you for days.

For this new album the band presents the best of both worlds – offering the most melodic and at the same time heaviest moments of their repertoire, but with a class and maturity which is really from another world. “Nine” is an absolute contender as Top Album of the year, transcending the boundaries and subgenres of Hard Rock music. CURVED AIR CELEBRATES THE 4TH YEAR OF ITS REFORMATION WITH THE RELEASE OF ITS NEW LIVE ALBUM, “LIVE ATMOSPHERE” The band, still fronted by Sonja Kristina, selected the tracks after multi-track recording the entire first leg of its Live Atmosphere World Tour.  Sonja Kristina elaborated by saying they did this "to capture the invention and interplay of these virtuoso musicians, the 21st century Curved Air...."  The album was produced by Marvin Ayres and showcases both new and original members of the band. The band took the bold move of self-financing and self-releasing the album in order to retain complete creative control of “Live Atmosphere”, which is exclusively available NOW from the band’s webstore and at their shows.  The CD’s attractive digi-pack packaging also features a bonus DVD, filmed by Jane East, which shows the band backstage and live in concert. “Live Atmosphere” includes many of the key recordings from the band’s repertoire, including the hits “It Happened Today” and “Backstreet Luv” as well as fan favourites such as “Propositions”, “Phantasmagoria” and “Stretch”. A New Massive AOR Sensation from Sweden ! WIGELIUS to debut with « Reinventions » on Frontiers in June !

Frontiers Records is excited to present the debut album from WIGELIUS entitled “Reinventions” due for release on June 29th in Europe and July 2nd in North America.

WIGELIUS is a sensational new AOR band from Sweden built around the talent of Anders Wigelius, a gifted young vocalist who came to the attention of producer Daniel Flores (ISSA, THE MURDER OF MY SWEET, MIND'S EYE) after he sung the popular Journey song "Don't Stop Believin'" in a contest on the national Swedish TV (you can watch his performance following this link:www.youtube.com/watch?v=YDeVbz3Pbcg).

 A true Melodic Rock / AOR music fan, Anders grew up with music from Richard Marx, Toto, Journey and Foreigner and played AOR songs covers in a band called GAMBLERS, before going his own way with his own thing. “Since I discovered the joy in writing my own songs and I have been doing it since then” says Anders. “The music of Wigelius is powerful and big: it’s a guitar and drums driven sound, with a strong melodies on top. The arrangements are intricate with some theatrical modern parts, and there’s also a more downscaled side to it with emphasis on an acoustic feel. You can hear influences from Toto, Journey, Van Halen and Whitesnake.”.

Anders is in his early 20's, which is an advantage when creating new ways of marketing modern AOR. He plays guitars and keyboards and also writes music for other bands and has been quite successful with that. His older brother Erik Wigelius, plays drums. This is a hit, hungry, horny and amazingly talented new band, plus they look amazingly good. “I was fortunate to meet some great guys for this band” continues Anders, “but without Daniel Flores, there wouldn’t be Wigelius. We had a blast recording the album and with his experience the songs just kept getting better and better”. The line-up is rounded up by Jake Svensson on guitars and Chris Pettersson on bass.

Wigelius is also all about having fun! Without the enthusiasm for the music and lots of laughs during the process, "Reinventions" would have never sounded as energetic and "big" as it does. The collaboration turned out to be a perfect match of people sharing the same vision in making music together. The best still lie ahead! Everyone in the band is very excited to be a part of it! Harry Hess (ex HAREM SCAREM) mastered the album.

Irish HARD ROCK’s finest new band MILLION $ RELOAD to release their second album “A Sinner’s Saint” on Frontiers

Frontiers Records is pleased to announce the signing to the label of MILLION $ RELOAD for the release of the band’s second album entitled “A Sinner’s Saint” on June 29th in Europe and July 2nd in North America.

Formed in Northern Ireland in 2005, Million $ Reload started immediately to learn their breed playing live in the local club circuit leaving behind them a trail of fans hungry for more. Their catchy anthemic tunes soon gained them a recording deal, which culminated with the release of the debut album “Anthems Of A Degeneration” in 2008. A tour-de-force of vast hooks, killer riffs and moments of joyous, snake-hipped abandon, with shades of everyone from AC/DC and Aerosmith through to Thin Lizzy and Thunder confirming that these young Irishmen know their history and salute it with style, while also displaying a powerful and compelling character and atmosphere that is all their own.

“Million Dollar Reload sound is the culmination of our individual influences : no frills, balls to the wall, straight up rock n roll” says singer Phil Conalane. “Loud guitars , big vocals and the odd guitar solo with killer hooks. We have a definite sound, it’s not a new sound and we are not trying to re-invent the wheel, there are no delusions of grandeur in M$R . We know what we are about. All of us have our own personal influences that clearly can be heard in our songs, AC/DC, Aerosmith, early GNR . We don’t try to emulate those bands, we have our own take on modern day rock n roll, but they are definitely a big influence”.

The band toured heavily in support of the album and shared stages with Thunder, The Darkness, Buckcherry, Papa Roach and more. This has further pushed the band’s abilities and focused their songwriting abilities. The result is the new killer album “A Sinner’s Saint” which has sparkled the attention from the Italian label Frontiers Records which immediately signed the band upon hearing the new stuff the Irish five piece created.

Indeed, from blistering, cocksure sing-alongs like “Blow me away”, “Bullets in the sky” and “Wicked”, through to the irresistible bluesy ballad “Broken”, “A Sinner’s Saint” is a flawless exercise in smart, sassy songwriting and a superb showcase for the electrifying chemistry that exists between these five musicians. You can’t keep a band this good, or an album this strong, down for long, and now that they have started to build momentum once again, Million $ Reload must surely be on the road to rock ‘n’ roll glory. They’ve got the balls, the belief and the tunes to make it happen.
