Best remembered for "Baby Come Back," a song which topped the US single charts in 1978, Player original lineup included Peter Beckett (guitarist, lead vocalist), J.C. Crowley (guitarist, vocalist), Ronn Moss (bassist, vocalist) and John Friesen (drummer). After extensively playing the club scene in Southern California, Player began to develop a very distinctive edgy, yet very melodic rock style, and was signed by Robert Stigwood to his legendary RSO Records, home to The BeeGees, Eric Clapton, “Saturday Night Fever”, and “Grease”.
Among several notable accolades, Player was named Billboard's Best New Singles Artist of 1978. Eric Clapton became so impressed with Player that he invited them to be the special guest on his 1978 North American tour. They also performed with Heart, Boz Scaggs, Kenny Loggins and Gino Vannelli to name a few.
Player went on to release four albums during their active touring years until 1982. Moss left in 1981 to pursue an acting career, and has starred for the past 25 years on the daytime soap opera “The Bold and the Beautiful”. JC Crowley pursued a career in country Music, while Beckett continued writing for other artists and movie soundtracks. He also did an eight year stint with Little River Band starting in 1990, while releasing an acclaimed solo cd 'Beckett' in 1991.
Beckett got back together with Ronn Moss in 1995, and recorded Player's fifth album, “Lost in Reality” and toured the United States. Since then, Peter has produced, written and played on two solo CDs for Ronn Moss and composed music for “The Bold And The Beautiful”. Player restarted working on new songs and touring together in 2010. The new lineup features again original members Peter Beckett and Ronn Moss together with Rob Math (guitars), Johnny English (keyboards) and Craig Pilo (drums).
“Player has not released a cd for over 10 yrs. It's great to actually be creating in the studio for the band once again, as opposed to our many other projects”, says Peter Beckett. “The new album will feature Player's three part harmony very prominently and include the usual blend of rock and big melodies”.
Ronn Moss adds: “It’s been quite a while since our last record release. Feels great to finally be making new music. I’d say the “stuff of life” has played an integral part of influencing all non-musical activities the last several years. Personal endeavours, other work related ventures, and just being downright lazy, have all played a part in why we haven’t done this sooner than now. But in “now’s” defense, sometimes one has to wait until “now” happens before you can actually be there.”
As a special appetizer to the new release, and in connection with a promotional trip in Italy where Peter and Ronn will appear on several major radio and TV shows in the first week of May, Frontiers Records is pleased to announce the worldwide digital release only of a 3-songs EP entitled “My Addiction” on April 30th.
The EP will also include, along with the title track, “Too Many Reasons” and a new recording of “Baby Come Back” and sets the pace for the new album’s release which is planned for the second half of 2012.
“My Addiction - as well as “Too Many Reasons” - came from co-writing sessions between Beckett and Steve Plunkett. “ I have written tons of songs with "Plunk" over the last 20 years and will continue to do so. We sifted through our joint efforts to see what would fit Player” tells Peter. "Addiction" seemed to be a great choice. This song title was actually stolen from one of our other songs. The other song was actually about addiction. This one is a love song and a lot easier to listen to.

Without any doubt Herman Frank is one of the most prestigious German metal guitarists of the past 30 years. A drive by the way, which was not only achieved by Herman Frank's entire career, but in every note played and by his unmistakable presence. His compositions are impressive for the boiling mixture of rock, metal and blues influences, while his playing combines taste, technique and profound ideas. The same holds true for the musicians who joined him in the studio: Born in Sweden, singer Rick Altzi, with his distinguished rock voice, contacted Herman Frank after learning of his search for a front man. Bassist Peter Pichl was already involved in Frank’s solo debut Loyal To None and is one of the most sought after bass players on the scene. Mamalitsidis Cristos has already appeared onstage with Herman Frank as a second guitarist and plays top quality metal guitar. Drummer Michael Wolpers’ keen sense for grooves and precision can be heard clearly and he has belonged to Frank's group of friends for years.
Together with this line-up of experts Herman Frank has recorded 13 gripping metal tracks. The recordings took place in his own 'Arena 20' studio located in Hanover, Germany. Frank himself acted as composer and producer, as well as taking care of the mixing and album mastering. Frank has succeeded by implementing an astonishing variety of different tempos, levels of heaviness and forms of expression within a traditional metal frame. With the furious opener 'Roaring Thunder' and the pulsating title track 'Right In The Guts' Frank immediately shows his typical side. This is where instruments and vocals get directly to the point and leave no questions unanswered. This contrasts nicely with the rather unusual number 'Vengeance', a track full of challenging finesse. All in all an album that his fans will love.
…and a work that belongs on the stage as quickly as possible. As Herman Frank personally promises: "I will use every free minute that Accept gives me to play in each and every club in the world that has enough power outlets for my ENGL wall of amp." Tony also appeared on the single Down Town released with Swedish Erotica somewhere around 1988. After the sessions in Gothenburg Tony was a member in several musical acts around on his home ground regions, such as Malibu Band, Tracy Goes Crazy and Axia.
The band NIVA released “No Capitulation” in Japan in 1994. After this first NIVA release there was not much activity in terms of live performances, instead Tony composed own made material during that period.
At that point Tony was moving his musical direction from the metal genre. He made an appearance with the band Lion’s Share and they released the album “Entrance”.

Niva have now changed their musical prowess to more of the AOR and Melodic Rock style of direction, the new band is called Oxygen and the album is “Final Warning”. What this album is all about is highly infectious melodies and great songs. Oxygen have a knack of turning out great tunes, in the manner of Treat and such other great Swedish bands but they seem to have captured that great American / Canadian vibe of the early eighties, and vocally Tony sounds a little like Lou Nadeau of “Wrabit” so you can be sure they stand out from the crowd!
Oxygen are like a breath of fresh air and they put so much passion into their songs, this fantastic album should be a big hit with all those who love Scandinavian Melodic rock but also love how it was originally done in the 80’s on the other side of the Atlantic.

A gifted singer and consummate songwriter Richard Marx has left a powerful mark on the music industry over the past 20 years. With 30 million records sold, 3 Grammy Awards nominations, a Grammy Award for “Song of the Year” and an American Music Award nomination for favourite male singer Marx, who has written fourteen #1 songs and had thirteen US #1 songs on the Billboard charts, has remained a fixture on pop and adult contemporary radio for years.
Marx was the first male solo artist in history to have his first 7 singles reach the top 5 on Billboard’s singles chart, including the 1 hits “Hold On to the Nights,” “Satisfied” and the worldwide classic “Right Here Waiting.” This feat remains unchallenged. He has also emerged as a first rate producer working with some of the biggest names in the music business including *NSYNC, Barbra Streisand, Josh Groban, Kenny Rogers, Sarah Brightman, Lara Fabian, Sister Hazel and The Tubes among others. It features two bonus tracks as well as collaborations with some of the most talent singer songwriters in the business including Chris Daughtry (“Had Enough” and “On The Inside”), Chad Kroeger of Nickelback (who also co-wrote “On The Inside”), Matt Scannell of Vertical Horizon (who played and co-wrote “Always on Your Mind”), Jason Wade of Lifehouse (who co-wrote “Had Enough”, also released by his band on “Smoke and Mirrors”), Fee Waybill of The Tubes (“Come Running”), Dann Huff (co-producer and guitarist on “Loved”) and many others.
Marx said: “I'm excited to be putting out a new release in Europe. My fans there have been incredibly loyal and I hope they like this new music and I hope to be back over touring there soon.”
The second, bonus CD contains amazing new versions of 12 of Marx’s greatest hits, including “Right Here Waiting”, “Angelia”, “Don’t Mean Nothing” and “Keep Coming Back”.
Marx added: “I wanted to have new recordings of my classic tracks because, while they were all fun to revisit and sing and play again, in a few cases I felt they needed some updating. After playing these songs live for so many years I wanted to incorporate some of the ways the songs have evolved but still retain what people seemed to like about them to begin with.”

Hardline was formed when brothers Johnny (vocals) and Joey (guitar) Gioeli, originally from the band Brunette, teamed up with Journey/Bad English guitarist Neal Schon. The original plan was for Neal to produce Hardline, but as he was having so much fun that he decided to join the band as soon as he left Bad English.
They immediately added established musicians Todd Jensen (David Lee Roth, Alice Cooper) on bassand Deen Castronovo (also coming from Bad English) on drums to the mix and the result was magnificent. They went on to record their debut album “Double Eclipse” for MCA in 1992 and then went on the tour circuit with such heavy hitters as Van Halen and Mr. Big.
The first single from “Double Eclipse” was the song "Hot Cherie". While never popular in the mainstream, various radio stations worldwide started to play it and Hardline's fanbase started to grow. They released a video to MTV, but did not get much airplay. By that time grunge and alternative had already taken over and Melodic Rock was being pushed aside. Tension among band members, the record company and perhaps certain egos, got in the way of an immediate follow-up album, despite the band having written more than enough material.
While Neal re-started his adventure with Journey in 1995 (again together with Deen Castronovo), Johnny stepped out of the music business eventually to return as Axel Rudi Pell’s singer in 1998 on the album “Oceans Of Time”.
But years later Johnny and his brother Joey were ready to give it another go with Hardline after the call of Frontiers Records, and with an all new line-up they produced the awesome return album “II” in 2002 with Josh Ramos(of The Storm and Two Fires fame) taking Neal Schon’s place on lead guitar.
Hailed by critics and fans alike as a topreturn, the band returned on stageheadlining the GODS Festival in Bradfordin June 2002, before Johnny and Josh started to work on new songs which eventually saw the light of day on the “Leaving the End Open” album released on Frontiers in may 2009.
While it became apparent after the release of the third album that the band would risk again to go into hibernation, it was thanks to the persistence of the band’s #1 fan, Frontiers Records President Serafino Perugino that Gioeli decided to give Hardline another go. That happened when he heard the songs that the Italian songwriter and producer Alessandro Del Vecchio (Edge of Forever) started to write for him. Surprised and excited with the quality of the music, Hardline has now turned to a different beast and with a European based line-up featuring Francesco Iovino (UDO), Thorsten Kohene (Code Of Perfection, Eden's Curse) and Anna Portalupi (Mitch Malloy), Hardline are now back with its strongest release since the debut album !

Featuring original members, Mark Kendall (guitar), Michael Lardie (guitar, keyboards), Audie Desbrow (drums) and joined by lead singer Terry Ilous and bassist Scott Snyder the group emerged unscathed from late 2011 band member changes. Best known for the 1989 smash “Once Bitten, Twice Shy,” Great White’s worldwide sales are approaching 10 million. Elation is just the recording of what live audiences will see and hear as a band with a new mission. “This is a new birth of the band,” Desbrow says. “I wanted to call the album ‘Tabula Rasa’ which means rebirth, but we went for ‘Elation’ because of the euphoria in the atmosphere. It’s a fresh and healthier start than ever before. I’m like a kid in a candy store.”
Kendall, one of rock’s most notable guitarists, echoed Desbrow’s pure excitement. “The energy in the studio is amazing,” Kendallsays. “This is the most excited I’ve been since I was nine-years-old and got my first guitar. It's remarkable to be doing our third record with Frontiers Records and to feel the love and support from Serafino and his team. They are truly part of the Great White family."
Lardie, who also served as Elation’s producer, applauded the band’s teamwork in the studio. He was struck by the group’s song writing approach and enthusiasm, and assures fans will embrace the record.
“The difference in this studio experience was simple. Everyone was completely present and contributed to the making of this album. As a producer, I feel my part is to get the best out of each of us and I got better than anyone’s best!”
